Quid is PortIT’s flagship brand and first client—a comprehensive ecosystem of business and banking tools that enables entrepreneurs to go from company formation to fully operational in one integrated platform. Built by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs, Quid eliminates the friction of launching and scaling international businesses.
The One-Stop-Shop Vision
Quid addresses the complexity entrepreneurs face when starting a business: navigating multiple jurisdictions, setting up banking infrastructure, managing compliance, and coordinating payment operations across borders. The platform our team built consolidates these traditionally fragmented services into a seamless, end-to-end solution.
Building the Foundation (2020-2021)
As PortIT’s first customer, Quid served as the proving ground for our Banking-as-a-Service infrastructure. I was deeply hands-on during this foundational period, working directly with the team to build and refine the platform that would become PortIT Core.
The team delivered a one-stop-shop platform encompassing:
Core Services
- International Company Formation: Streamlined incorporation processes across multiple jurisdictions
- Banking Infrastructure: Payment accounts and card issuance across EU, UK, Switzerland, and soon the US
- Multi-Currency Operations: Support for 48+ currencies with instant FX conversion
- Global Payment Processing: Coordinated liquidity and payment acquiring across 3 different providers
- Accounting Integration: Native connectivity with Xero and QuickBooks for simplified financial management
Technical Architecture
The engineering team tackled geography-specific regulatory and compliance requirements by building:
- Modular Compliance Framework: Geography-agnostic abstractions for payments and customer onboarding that adapt to local regulations
- Agentic Support System: AI-powered decision support for compliance and customer service teams to handle risk-sensitive scenarios
- Workflow-Based Backoffice: Bespoke, modular system focused on reducing ticket time-to-completion through intelligent routing and automation
- Technology Stack: Java Spring Boot, ReactJS, Flutter, leveraging PortIT Core’s proven infrastructure patterns
The most significant challenge was maintaining platform stability while prototyping new features and integrations at production scale—balancing the speed of execution entrepreneurs demand with the reliability financial services require.
Scaling and Evolution (2021-Present)
As PortIT Core matured, Quid grew into a globally operating platform serving hundreds of businesses that chose the one-stop-shop approach for their international expansion needs. The platform processes transactions across:
- Major Currencies: EUR, GBP, USD, CHF, NZD, AUD, SGD
- Extended Currency Support: 48+ currencies worldwide with instant conversion
- Multi-Provider Network: Coordinated payment operations across multiple acquiring and distribution partners
My role evolved from hands-on development to strategic oversight, guiding the teams expanding Quid’s capabilities while leveraging an increasingly mature PortIT Core infrastructure.

Throughout Quid’s evolution, my focus has been on:
- First-Customer Partnership: Working closely with Quid to shape PortIT Core based on real-world business needs
- Compliance Architecture: Designing modular systems that adapt to diverse regulatory environments without sacrificing speed
- Developer Experience: Ensuring teams can rapidly prototype and deploy new features while maintaining production reliability
- Strategic Oversight: Guiding product expansion as the platform scales to serve more entrepreneurs globally

Quid represents the realization of a vision: technology that removes complexity so entrepreneurs can focus on building their businesses. By consolidating company formation, banking, payments, compliance, and accounting into a single platform, the team has created infrastructure that turns what traditionally takes weeks or months into a matter of days.
The platform’s success as PortIT’s first brand validated our architectural decisions and proved that modular, compliance-first infrastructure can deliver both the flexibility entrepreneurs need and the reliability financial services demand.
